Tutorials
Important Announcements:
- For some of the tutorials, the
number of pre-registrations exceeds the capacities of the reserved
rooms. We expect that not all people who registered for a tutorial
will show up, but we recommend that you come early to the tutorials of
your choice in order to secure a seat.
- Tutorial Notes and Workshop Proceedings will not be
distributed at the conference, they will only be available online.
Participants are expected to print out their own copies if they want
to have a hard copy at the conference.
The 21st International Conference on Machine
Learning (ICML-2004) will host eight tutorials.
All tutorials will be held on the first day of the conference, July
4th, 2004. This is the Kernel Day
of the conference, which will feature joint sessions on kernel-based
methods with the
colocated
17th Annual Conference on Learning Theory (COLT-04).
Morning Tutorials
Morning Tutorials will be held 8:30 - 12:20, with a coffee break
from 10:10 - 10:40.
Lunchtime Tutorial
The lunchtime tutorial will beld from 12:40 - 16:00 (coffee break
14:00 to 14:20) in order to
minimize the overlap with the regular kernel
sessions on July 4th. It will be possible to have
lunch while attending the tutorial.
Afternoon Tutorials
Afternoon Tutorials will be held 14:20 - 18:10, with a coffee break from
16:00 - 16:30.
Proposals for tutorials were accepted until February 13, 2004. A copy of the call for proposals can be found
here.
The tutorials are free for all registered participants of ICML. Please
indicate on the registration form which tutorials you intend to visit.
People who do not plan on attending the main conference can register
for the tutorials for USD 78. This includes breakfast, lunch, two
coffee breaks, and access to all tutorials.
Please register early,
because flights and hotel rooms will fill up quickly.
General questions about the tutorials can be addressed the tutorial
